This is a suggested path through the app and a way to see how the main elements work. It is not a test and there is no checklist to complete. If you would rather just explore on your own, go for it.
Getting the app
Installing Verna
If you are on iPhone, the link in your email will open through Apple's TestFlight app. TestFlight is how Apple handles beta versions of apps before they are available in the App Store. If you do not have it on your phone yet, you will be prompted to download it from the App Store first. It is free and takes a moment. Once TestFlight is installed, tap the Verna link again and accept the invite. Verna will install on your phone like any other app.
If you are on Android, the link takes you straight to the Play Store. Install from there as you normally would.

Bring your garden in
You can start by adding a plant you are already growing, something that is in the ground right now. You will be asked how you got it and when you planted it so the app can figure out where you are in the season.
Once that first one looks right, you can add a few more. Try a mix of plants if you have them: annuals like vegetables and herbs, and a perennial if you have one. See if the picture of your garden starts to come together.
Daily view
Check in with your HomeTab
Your HomeTab is Verna's daily view of your garden. Check in and see if what is showing makes sense.
Is it clear what needs your attention? Do you know what to do next?
Plant details
Look at your plants
Open one of your plants and look through the detail page. Scroll through the sections: growth information, care guidance, history, and add a few notes.
Is it useful? Is anything confusing or missing?
Care items
Engage with what shows up
When a care item, a check-in, or a harvest window appears, try it. The question is whether you understood what Verna was asking you to do and whether the guidance was helpful.
Try logging a watering or a fertilizer application. Does it feel like a natural part of using the app?
Browse around
Explore
Browse the crop library. Look up something you are curious about or thinking of adding to your garden.
Check out the Timeline tab. Scroll through what is coming up for the rest of your season.
Feedback
The Beta badge at the top of your screen is always there. Tap it anytime: something confusing, something broken, something that worked well. You do not need to wait for something to go wrong.
